Project Case Study Matjhabeng Solar Project

PV Solar Power Plant – Phase 1 - 75MW to 200MW final.


September 2015, Novatec SA partnered with Sunelex and Fluor on a Conceptual and basic electrical and control system design for the 75 MW PV Solar Plant.

At this time it was one of the biggest utility-scale green projects in South Africa.

This design included:

  • Solar field electrical design
  • DC, MV, LV design
  • Control System design
  • Transformer & Switchgear design
  • The grid Connection Study was performed.

We successfully completed the design effort and assisted the client (project developer) in completing the BFS.

Novatec SA also Participated in Geotechnical, Solar Resource, and EIA studies.
